Location: WI-Green Bay
Operational Start-Up Manager opening in De Pere, WI. This is Temp to Hire position.


Lead plant, specialists and sub teams supporting FEL 2 through Vertical Startup of small and large capital projects.

Primary emphasis is to safely develop and manage a thoroughly planned, well documented engineering and commissioning approach to achieve vertical startup of assets for the food and beverage industry.

Focus to include estimating, planning, commissioning, validation and turnover of processes, systems, and equipment to the end-user that meets client and project expectations in a BEYOND ZERO safety culture.


Reviews project proposal or plan to determine timelines, budgets, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various commissioning phases of a project.

Identifies owner's goals, needs, and expectations for building operation and function; identifies the commissioning responsibilities

Defines commissioning roles and scope for members of design, commissioning and construction teams; Prepares commissioning plan and interfaces with validation plan where applicable. Confers with project staff to devise work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority

Develops and supports start-up / commissioning safety plans and procedures, assures conformance to company guidelines and practices
Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems
Monitors commissioning results against technical specification; ensures that commissioning is executed in line with established company practices and procedures.
Reviews system boundaries and develops project start-up and turnover sequence.
Reviews stats reports prepared by commissioning personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required.
Prepares commissioning progress reports for management, client, or others.
Coordinates and/or attends design, construction, start-up, commissioning and qualification meetings.Applies process skills to develop a systematic and analytical approach to asset optimization/de-bottlenecking.

BS or MS in an engineering discipline or equivalent, 5-10 years in supervisory position. Ideally experienced in Food & Beverage, Pulp & Paper, Converting, Packaging, and associated consumer processes.

Strong communication, interpersonal skills with the desire to delight clients is imperative.

Experienced in the use of AutoCAD & Scheduling software

FMEA, RCA, Risk Mitigation, RCM, Functional Specification & Predictive and Preventative Maintenance

Basic knowledge of PLC software, AD/DC/Servo drives software, HMI software, vision systems, X-ray, Metal detection and Quality systems.
Ability to determine appropriate skill set requirements, develop training curriculum and communicate effectively between Research, Operations, Marketing, Engineering, Vendors and Contractor Teams.
