OPERATIONS CONTROLLER - AEROSPACE, DEFENSE, HEALTH AND POSITIONING CONTROL (ADPC)
Title: OPERATIONS CONTROLLER - AEROSPACE, DEFENSE, HEALTH AND POSITIONING CONTROL (ADPC) Location: USA-OH-Canton Other Locations: This position reports to the Controller - Aerospace, Defense, Health and Positioning Control (ADPC) with a dotted line to an Operations Controller, Bearings & Power Transmissions (B&PT). The selected candidate will work closely with Director of Manufacturing-ADPC to drive performance.
The operations controller will lead and drive the annual business planning process and ongoing forecasts for the aerospace operations plants. The role will consist of a key leader to provide financial analyses and recommendations to assist in achieving strategic and financial objectives for the group. This position will be responsible for providing proactive analysis and reporting of key metrics, making recommendations on corrective actions and enforcing budget accountability.
This position will be responsible for adherence to financial policy and controls across ADPC plants, improving internal processes. The role will further be responsible to ensure all ADPC plant operations accounting activities comply with GAAP, Timken policies, and sound business practice.
The Operations Controller will provide financial support to the ADPC group on organic and inorganic strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities :
· Planning, directing, and coordinating all financial operational functions · Coordinating and preparing internal financially driven operating metrics · Providing management (plant and front-end) with information vital to the decision-making process · Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes · Evaluating accounting and internal control systems · Hiring, training, and retaining competent staff · Leading the development of plant annual business plans and assisting with strategic planning requirements. Working with manufacturing, sourcing, order fulfillment and the front end units to create accurate and reliable business plans based on market demand, shop loads, manning plans, project work and projected expenses · Assisting in evaluating, controlling, and monitoring labor costs and providing labor wage & compensation analysis to support annual labor budgets · Coordinate and manage annual standards revaluation · Directly support key strategic rationalization, growth, acquisition and divestiture projects · Drive integration of all aerospace plants, including non-bearing locations into consistent operations metrics and strategies to drive performance · Co-manage along with engineering manager the capital process and provide guidance/assistance in preparing ARs · Drive continuous improvement by supporting Lean initiatives, ensuring that projects are defined with clear financial objectives and results are tracked and reported · Serve as the financial representative on systems initiatives and implementations, responsible for setting up best practice financial business processes
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field with minimum of 10 years experience in accounting or related function OR · Master's degree with 5 years experience in accounting or related function · CPA or CMA designation preferred · 7 years experience in manufacturing related accounting functions preferred
