Under the direction of the Director of Operations, provide oversight of the day-to-day operations of the department; ensure highly effective service and support to customer accounts as well as compliancy with industry regulations and company policies. Responsibilities include but are not limited to ensure the accurate and timely processing of all brokerage transactions, provide support and review for new account set-up, review exception reports, monitor not-in-good-order work items, process corporate actions, cashiering requests and provide support for various operations and customer service functions.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Validate and correct discrepancies in commission charges and transactions errors between the clearing firm and front-end systems
* Review incoming flagged trades and fund requests, provide frontline identification, mitigation and escalation of risk issues
* Analyze best execution reports provided by clearing firm
* Evaluate OATS eligible trades and verify proper execution
* Make sure appropriate technical controls exist in front-end Control and Release functionality to protect the firm from potential trade related risks
* Review and approve department trade blotters
* Review daily cash, fed and margin call; all calls are processed per agreement with clearing firm and regulatory rules
* Restrict accounts that do not abide by cash and/or margin requirements sent by the firm
* Process various not-in-good-order (“NIGO”) service items and work to bring them in-good-order (“IGO”)
* Analyze, identify and resolve problems with clearing and correspondent firm relating to customer accounts
* Assist in creation and revision of WSPs
* Assist with in-house and/or regulatory audits
* Contribute to the development of new products and new business strategies around trading and back office technologies
* Track new online accounts and verify if proper paperwork is received at the clearing firm
* Review and interpret exception reports received on a daily basis from clearing firm.
* Analyze clearing firm technologies and perform due diligence when new technologies are released by clearing firm
* Participate in cross functional problem solving improvement efforts to understand, document, and improve processes that improve effectiveness and efficiency

Supervisory Activities:
* Provide departmental supervision in areas of trade and operationally related matters
* Interpret, analyze, and recommend operational procedures and policies to comply with industry standards and market practices
* Train and coach associates in operational policies and procedures
Position Specifications:
* 5-7 years industry experience preferred
* FINRA Series 7, 24 and 63/66 required
* Sound understanding of industry terminology and processes
* Extensive experience in Operations department stock-brokerage activities
* Excellent customer service skills

* Ability to participate and lead projects to continuously improve systems and procedures
