Description
Reporting to the Area Operations Manager, this position will be a key player with the ongoing development and coordination of the new Hub & Spoke Distribution Model to be established in District 96. The Operations Specialist will be responsible to coordinate and schedule chemical orders and deliveries for sales personnel within District 96. This individual will work closely with the Sales Personnel, Area Manager's, Sales Office Administrators, Calgary Plant (in particular the Production Scheduler), QHSSE, and Trucking to ensure products are moved and stored safely, efficiently, timely and cost effectively. Duties will include scheduling, coordinating, and delivering bulk chemical for salespersons. The Operations Specialist will be responsible for gathering existing field maps and creating new electronic maps which can be downloaded into a data base for all field locations. As the Hub & Spoke Distribution Centers near completion, there will be a need for this person to schedule, coordinate, and oversee all chemical orders and deliveries including packaged goods.
JOB DUTIES: · Coordinates, schedules, and participates in the delivery of bulk chemicals to customer locations · Assists the Operations Manager in the management of chemical inventory · Develops a mapping and work order system for the District · Coordinates and schedules deliveries of Third party transfer truck to customer location · Maintains Preventive Maintenance of district equipment and scheduling · Completes equipment and building inspections and maintains/ repairs facilities and equipment as required · Coaches and mentors Operations staff in safe and efficient product delivery best practices
QUALIFICATIONS: · Minimum High School Diploma · Minimum 4 – 5 years trucking experience and/or an understanding of equipment operating; routing and logistical experience · Strong communication skills · Strong organizational skills and time management abilities · Knowledge of Champion product line · Understand DOT both Hazardous and Non-Hazardous regulations · Must be a self starter · Minimum travel 10% per month · Foster teamwork and positive team environment · Strong computer skills; in particular MS Excel · Experience with DOT/log books · Able to multi-task and handle scheduling conflicts while maintaining good internal customer relations
