Position Purpose
Provide manufacturing expertise to solve difficult problems and continuously improve our manufacturing organization and/or supply base. Duties:
Essential Functions
* Provides advanced technical solutions * Develops alternate assembly/test and manufacturing processes * Initiates, justifies, implements new capital equipment purchases * Creates cell layouts and process improvement initiatives * Uses Six Sigma and lean tools to improve processes * Reviews and approves design/detail of new designs for producibility * Represents the company with our customers * Routinely updates management on status of projects * Leads multiple projects * Supports the manufacturing floor for any process related questions * Creates and maintains process documentation * Implement engineering changes * Process and update work order documentation * Adhere to applicable Quality System requirements
Other Functions
* Design complex tools and fixturings * Fully utilizes all applicable software
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
* Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to work with people * Solid Six Sigma knowledge * Project planning tools * Advanced knowledge on database management software skills * Complete understanding of applicable manufacturing processes * Advanced understanding of Root Cause Analysis * Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts * Ability to apply advanced knowledge of capabilities studies, Gage R&R, and machine capability * Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills * Strong computer skills * Advanced programming knowledge of applicable software * Previous Assembly and Test Background Qualifications:
Education/Formal Training
* Four year degree in technical/engineering discipline or other combinations of education, training, or experience to perform essential job functions.
Experience
* Previous manufacturing engineering or manufacturing specialist experience in the appropriate technologies/production environment. * Preferred Six Sigma Greenbelt/Blackbelt training. * Preferred previous mechanical background and experience with legacy product lines, gage R&R and machine capability studies.
