Job Description :

Responsible for reviewing and validating the MRP material plan. Creates raw material purchase orders to provide accurate material plan signal to Purchasing, Vendors and multiple departments. Also responsible for plant raw material inventory levels to support plant schedule and the resulting financial impact.
* Reviews MRP plan and MRP system parameters to ensure material planning signal is accurate, researching options for continuous improvement. Includes lot size, safety stocks, lead times, fluctuations in both Finished Good & Raw Material supply / demand, various strategies for high volume vs. low volume materials.
* Creates and maintains raw material purchase orders to support MRP requirements and to provide accurate material plan signal to Purchasing, vendors and multiple departments.
* Works within Purchasing System to ensure process flow of purchase orders.
* Schedules raw materials to ensure optimal availability. Reviews plant manufacturing and vendor conformance to plan and the resulting impact on future planned deliveries. Assesses material shortage information, priority levels and customer orders for proper expediting as required. Traces delinquent orders.
* Closely monitors existing and projected raw material inventory levels. Works with vendors to expedite / delay planned deliveries to support raw material inventory goals, maintain proper mix and to support plant schedule requirements.
* Monitors Vendor Performance and delivery to ensure production schedule requirements are met. Provides Vendor Performance information to Corporate Purchasing.
* Responsible for Plant Raw Material inventory levels and financial impact.
* Works closely with multiple departments, including Plant Scheduling, Manufacturing, Inventory Control and Purchasing.
* Reviews Plant MRP Metrics and Scorecards, including Total Raw Material Inventories on Hand and Days Forward Coverage (DFC), identifying trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
* Reviews Plant Excess and Obsolete Raw Material Inventories and initiates relocation or disposition processes.
* Review Bill of Material (BOM) accuracy and initiate corrective actions to provide accurate MRP signals.
* Participates in Process Improvement projects when necessary.
*Will perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements :

* BS/BA degree in related field.
* At least 3 years of related experience in Material Planning, Buying, or Manufacturing environment.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Knowledge of production planning and purchase order placement processes and systems.
* Strong quantitative, analytical and communication skills.
* Must be detail-oriented.
