We are an established company that specializes in all-natural tortilla chips and crackers. We are currently seeking a Plant Operations Manager to join our dynamic team in NC, near Charlotte.
Plant Operations Manager
As the Plant Operations Manager you will manage the entire North Carolina plant operations and productions including facilities, inventory, production, quality, packaging and shipping of product in a 24 hour/ 5+ day operation through the direct supervision of 5 managers/supervisors and staff. Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: · Direct and manage the work activities of 70+ employees · Create and maintain production schedules that maximize efficiency · Responsible for compliance with applicable laws, standards, procedures and certifications. · Plan and coordinate asset protection and maintenance programs · Review daily production reports to ensure delivery of quality products on time that meet customer requirements · Monitor inventory levels and order and shipment status · Oversee monthly physical inventories and production reconciliations · Assess plant performance and plan and oversee production processes and procedures to maintain quality, cost control and productivity. · Plan and recommend staffing changes and oversee the employee training program · Assess capital needs and prepare capital budget · Assist in strategic planning · Prepare and assist with plant financial budget · Oversee plant and employee health, safety and programs · Keep senior management informed through oral, written and digital communications
Requirements
Qualifications: Our ideal candidate will have excellent situation analysis, problem solving and decision making skills. This individual must have the ability to work under pressure in a fast paced, ever changing environment while maintaining strong quality and safety program. In addition, the candidate must have a flexible personality and strong business acumen in order to be successful. The candidate must be financially astute and have proven success managing P&L.
Required Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree in industrial or business management · Minimum of 10 years of food manufacturing experience · Minimum of 5 years experience in a Plant Manager role · Knowledge of FDA and OSHA standards, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Good manufacturing Practices (GMP) · Proficient with computers and Windows based programs · Exceptional communications skills - both spoken and written · Proven prior experience in developing a diverse and effective management team · Some continuous/process improvement experience · Must have the potential to serve at higher levels in the company
Preferred Qualifications: · Prior experience manufacturing corn chips or salty snacks · Ability to speak Spanish
