Prepress Operator
Our commercial printing company located in Fort Wayne is currently seeking an experienced
Prepress Operator with Digital Press Operator experience for an immediate opening.
Electronic PrePress Technicians are responsible for correcting and preparing client supplied electronic files for accurate and efficient imposition and output to digital proof and plate devices. Additionally, EPP technicians are required to maintain accurate records of work performed and product generated both in the Job Tracking System (JTS) and on work orders.
The 2nd shift EPP will also be required to run our Digital Press Equipment. Training can be provided but any familiarity with producing variable and static digital printing pieces on offset stock is preferred. Must be comfortable in setting up equipment, running jobs, performing quality control, and performing regular preventative maintenance.

Requirements:
HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE KNOWLEDGE
EPP personnel are expected to attain and maintain a high level of proficiency with current and recent versions of all industry standard applications. These include, but are not limited to: Quark XPress, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe InDesign,and a working knowledge of Microsoft Word. EPP personnel are also expected to be able to produce work from within all Apple Macintosh and Microsoft Windows client/server operating systems. EPP personnel are required to maintain a high level of proficiency with imposition software and related knowledge about specific presses and bindery equipment as it pertains to press sheet layouts. EPP personnel are required to develop and maintain a working knowledge of software and RIP technology relating to the output of all proofs and plates. This includes, RIPing, trapping, file retrieval, and queue management procedures. Additionally, EPP personnel must remain up to date on, and adhere to, all PrePress Standard Operating Procedures as they relate to job performance and expectations.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS REQUIRED
EPP personnel must possess and maintain a working understanding of basic printing theory, including digital imposition, trapping, overprinting, screen ruling/angles, dot/press gain, paper characteristics, pagination, ink density, ghosting, color space, gathering lip, foil stamping, embossing, die cutting and color theory.
