A key element of the Invensys growth strategy is assisting our customers in their efforts to increase the availability and utilization of their plant assets.
To meet this objective, Invensys Operations Management (IOM) markets and provides Advanced Application Consulting services and technical solutions to customers via the IOM North America Consulting Organization.
IOM is seeking a Principal Consultant to support the offering of our Alarm Management Services - to be located in NA.
This person will be recognized as a specialist and a key contributor/leader in project implementation in Alarm management services and will be closely involved in defining and developing our technical solutions and ensuring consistency in marketing and project execution.
Responsibilities include:
. Acting as a consultant in the development of Alarm Philosophy in conjunction with the clients and the project team
. Acting as a consultant with the project team in the implementation of the advanced alarming phase of our projects
. Acting as a facilitator in leading the alarm rationalization at client sites
. Making key contributions in the development and improvement of our alarm services offering
. Representing Invensys in the market place through writing and delivering technical papers and leading technical forums in this area of expertise
. Supporting our services sales organization in business development and project execution activities for Alarm Management Services
. Supporting our proposal team in adapting services scope definitions to match specific customer requirements.
. Thorough understanding of Alarm Management, alarm rationalization and state dependent alarming techniques
. Strong knowledge of Data Base Manipulation (SQL)
. Familiarity with alarm management best practices and standards such as EMMUA 191, ISA 18.2, ASM and others
. Thorough understanding of Alarm Management Software, knowledge of Plant State Suite is a plus
. Ability to transfer technical skills to other engineers
. Solid communication and presentation skills
. Ability to persuade customers
. Excellent technical leadership skills
. Thorough understanding of I/A system hardware and software. Knowledge of other DCS platforms is a plus
Required Experience & Education
. Minimum of 7 years experience in process control application engineering
. Knowledge in Power, Chemical, refinery, and mining processes
. Chemical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering Degree; post graduate is an asset
Special Requirement
50 - 75% of time in travel in North America
