Job Description: Job#: JID1034103
We are seeking a Process Engineer for our Stroudsburg Mill in Delaware Water Gap. The Process Engineer initiates, designs and implements engineering projects to reduce costs, improve product quality and consistency, reduce process variability and improve the manufacturing process at the mill. In addition, the Process Engineer monitors and evaluates processes in assigned areas to identify improvement opportunities.
Duties include but are not limited to:
? Support safe and effective operation of our mill by developing and applying standards, process structures and practices.
? Support safety and environmental compliance.
? Support environmental operations including, but not limited to, effluent area, solid waste and air emissions. Manages all aspects of environmental reporting and permitting.
? Support improvements to product quality providing support to customer inquiries, concerns and trials.
? Improve efficiency and effectiveness of mill operations by analyzing the processes and utilizing all available tools and technology.
? Monitors coating preparation systems, formulations and inventories.
? Monitors pertinent quality and operating data.
? Continually explores process changes to improve product quality and/or reduce operating costs.
? Troubleshoot quality and operational issues in the mill providing structure and logic to the process. Develop systems and structures to avoid reoccurrence.
? Develop and maintain methods for tracking and reducing operational costs.
? Be an operational resource by providing technical expertise.
? Coordinate the efforts of outside resources to improve operation.
? Develop, implement and facilitate operational training programs.
? Provide production input to capital projects from inception through completion.
? Support lab technicians.
? Respond to other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
Essential Job Requirements:
? BS, Science, Engineering, or related discipline
? 3- 5 years of experience in Pulp and Paper Industry
? Professional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively interface with personnel at all levels of the Company.
? Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
? A self-starter with a strong ability to multitask and manage a variety of issues/projects simultaneously; ability to meet multiple deadlines.
? Strong computer competency and mechanical aptitude
Preferred Job Requirements:
? Operational and internal quality system experience.
? Problem solving/troubleshooting experience in process optimization a plus.
? Six Sigma experience (Company will provide training, as needed).
