This opportunity is at our Fairport NY location which designs and fabricates precision injection molded plastic products, specializing in unique, first ever applications molded from high-end engineering grade resins. Position Summary: Responsible for technically supporting the molding operation. This person analyzes and troubleshoots machinery, making the necessary process adjustments to consistently produce parts that meet the company’s quality standards.
Essential Functions:
* Proactively contribute to the success of the molding department by ensuring quality standards, production schedules, and established standards are met. * Confers with production personnel to resolve problems affecting production schedules. * Ensures that machine setting variations are recorded and proper according to the set-up sheet. * Troubleshoot quality problems such as splay, flash, heat sinks. * Make adjustments to sprue pickers as needed. * Purge machine with styrene for safety reasons. * Cleans molds and properly lubricates. * Complete all required documentation in an accurate and timely manner. * Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency. * Assist PQT and Material Handler with parts packing, weighing, housekeeping, and maintaining safety standards. * Communicates any problems to the Maintenance Department and Shift leader for maintenance related problems. * Other duties and projects as required.
Job Requirements :
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED); * Must have experience/education equivalent to at least 2 years of processing in the plastic injection molding industry. * Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently. * Flexibility with shift schedule, ability to work overtime and weekends as needed. This position will rotate hours between 1st and 2nd shift.
