As Procurement Specialist Planner, you will support strategic sourcing activities including market research, supplier selection, contract negotiations, and supplier management. This position interfaces closely with numerous disciplines within iRobot, including engineering, R&D, operations, quality, finance, legal, and corporate procurement. Essential Functions/ Job Duties:
* Work within procurement policies, systems and procedures consistent with requirements for the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). * Document all aspects of each procurement from market research, solicitations, competition or sole/single source purchases, price and cost analysis, CAS, negotiations, advance notification/consent, small business plan, reps and certs, as required per FAR. * Assist in identifying new sources of supply to obtain best value procurements for iRobot and manage RFP/RFQ process including evaluating suppliers on criteria. * Follow market conditions, anticipate market trends, and create competitive strategies. * Award, negotiate, and oversee various types of contracts (procurements) and ensure contracts have appropriate flow downs and supplier accountability including performance metrics/SLA's/warranties and resultant penalties. * Help resolve disputes and commercial issues with suppliers in conjuction with iRobot internal customers. * Review BOMs and AVLs with engineering; ensure necessary information is released for in-house and third party procurements. * Review NPI and early production build plans with business unit; drive in-house and third party procurements and builds. Transition supply chain from prototyping to production via third parties. * Provide procurement tactical support for the day-to-day operations as needed. Qualifications:
? * Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field. * 10+ years experience, including 5 years in a DoD environment, in sourcing and procurement for government funded projects/contracts in the the area of direct and indirect materials, components, and services. * Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical decisions/strategies into business terms and implications, geared to all audiences. * Solid project management and organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment. * Positive and energetic team player with strong cross-functional team experience. * Strong analytical problem solving aptitude and financial acumen. * Comfortable working with engineers and the requirements they generate. * Excellent computer skills, including MS Office. * Experience and ability to navigate within an ERP system such as Oracle or SAP. * US Citizenship or Permanent Residence required.
