More information about this job: Position Overview/Summary:
The Product Mechanical Designer will provide technical support to engineering/drafting, and interfaces with manufacturing, sales, field service, and service centers. The qualified individual will be responsible to create, design, and check bills of material, layouts, detailed drawings of parts and assemblies. Position Qualifications (Required and Preferred):
Required: * US Citizenship or Permanent Residency Required for U.S. government related projects. * AAS or AOS Drafting Degree with design experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable. * 5 years product drafting experience. 2 years experience in mechanical design, design of fabrications and drafting with rotating equipment (compressors, turbines, or valves). * Proficient in CAD (Solidworks and/or AutoCAD) and microsoft office including excel and access. * Knowledge of shut-down or control valves and actuators. * Knowledge of API, ANSI Y14.5, Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes and/or ASME standards. * Proven capability and knowledge in Lean and Continuous Improvement Methodologies. * Proven ability to work within schedule requirements. * Ability to work in team environment, excellent verbal and written communication skills. Position Responsibilities and Duties:
* Produce dimensionally correct detail drawings and 3dimensional models of parts and assemblies, complete with overall dimensions, tolerances, fits, finishes, and material selections. * Create, design and self-check, and check for accuracy bills of materials, detail drawings and assemblies. * Utilize correct method of dimensioning in compliance with drafting standards and ANSI Y14.5. * Support manufacturing and the production schedule with investigating and dispositioning non-conformances. * Review customer order requirements, quotes, and specifications. * Perform standard design calculations. * Participate in Process Improvements. * Additional duties as assigned.
