Product Design Engineer
Euro-Pro, maker of the Shark® line of vacuums, steam mops and garment care products and the Ninja® blender and master prep is looking for Industrial/Product Design Engineers. Summary of Position
We’re looking for Industrial Design Engineers to help us create a new generation of innovative products across our Kitchen, Garment Care and Floorcare categories. We thrive on designing great products that delight our customers but know that it takes unusual individuals to make it happen. Working as part of our Product Innovation team you will bring technical substance and inspiration to our creative efforts to ensure that imaginative but credible solutions populate our ambitious product roadmap.
Essential Functions
• Originate novel concepts and technologies for our next generation of products.
• Define elegant but robust solutions to satisfy the product functional requirements.
• Work with our Product Marketing and Industrial Design teams to ensure a cohesive approach to the design of our products.
• Communicate ideas quickly and effectively using a combination of sketching, CAD layouts, 3D models and working prototypes to evaluate potential solutions.
• Inject energy, enthusiasm and creativity into everything you touch.
• Be able to vigorously defend the best ideas but be open and receptive to input from a broad creative team.
• Apply a comprehensive understanding of high-volume manufacturing processes and materials to optimize designs.
• Confidence in managing external providers of technology solutions to reduce our time to market.
• Develop and execute verification and validation test plans.
• Understand the importance of clear product definition during the design process but be able to appreciate the spark of inspiration.
• Be naturally curious and relentlessly driven to find better solutions to everyday problems.
• Demonstrate integrity and courage in the way you work, breaking the mold isn’t easy.
• Stay abreast of the latest relevant technologies and products and be able to anticipate what we should do next.
• Continually evaluate and improve designs for cost effectiveness, manufacturing improvements, increased quality and value.
• Identify new ideas, products and/or features that improve customer satisfaction, reduce costs and keep our product line at the forefront of our industry.

• A natural and effective communicator capable of reducing abstract concepts to reality.
• Able to quickly generate visual and physical definitions of new products that convey key attributes of function and layout.
• Self-motivated and obsessed with detail.
• A good understanding of basic physical principles.
• Creativity and technical knowledge are crucial in this position.
Education and Experience
The ideal candidate will have a degree-level technical qualification, probably Mechanical or Industrial Design Engineering, with significant design content.
