Product Design Engineer-Silencer/Metal Fabrication/3D Modeling

Client located in the lower Midwest that provides emission solutions for industrial engines is actively interviewing for a Product Design Engineer with strong design experience in sheet metal fabrication using SolidWorks 3D computer modeling. FEA and CFD experience is necessary with acoustic silencer design experience a plus. Some travel will be required about 10% . Relocation assistance is negotiable for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
-> Support engineering, production and sales with solid modeling design skills
-> Create models and drawings of products with features valued by customers and cost effective manufacturing
-> Run FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics ) analysis to assure product integrity
-> Work with metal fabrication vendors and assemblers to develop best design and to minimize cost
-> Develop model packages that optimize designs for thermal and mechanical stress and strain, vibration and acoustic requirements
Requirements:
-> Bachelor?s or Masters in Mechanical Engineering
-> 3 to 5 years design experience where you utilized your mechanical aptitude, your sheet metal fabrication techniques and computer modeling skills
-> Acoustic silencer design experience a plus, will consider exhaust and muffler design experience
-> Strong sheet metal design and fabrication experience, piping background a plus
-> Demonstrated experience level of almost an expert modeling the FEA and CFD package in Soldiworks
