Product Development Technician
Reports to: VP, Product Development and Training

Position Overview This candidate must have the ability to understand reciprocating engine operation, catalytic processes, test procedures including experiment design, documentation and reporting, exhaust gas analytical equipment, and process control systems to test prototype designs for new and improved products. The candidate will also provide technical reports for use by engineering, production, technical service, and sales staff to promote MIRATECH products and educate MIRATECH customers. The candidate should possess leadership qualities needed for technical development and learning, teamwork, and a keen focus on timely results. The purpose of this position is to evaluate catalyst, acoustic and control system technologies to solve complex, regulated emission problems for our customers. This position will focus on designing and developing products based on understanding market drivers and emerging/evolving customer needs. It does not focus on developing production processes for the manufacture of products defined by this work group.

Education and Experience:• A technical or mechanical degree from an accredited University, College or Vocational school in the United States. Preferred proficiencies are:
o Mechanics
o Combustion
o Data reporting and presentation
o Design of Experiments
o Linear Algebra
o Statistics
o Systems Design or Controls Theory: basic electrical circuit fundamentals, control logic, fundamentals of sensors and instrumentation, PLC fundamentals, CANBUS
o Reactor design: fluid flow, mixing/turbulence, fluid system dynamics (temperature, pressure, chemistry)
• Four (4) years of work experience preferred.
• Experience with mechanical devices – e.g. reciprocating engines, pumps, fans, compressors, heat exchangers, generators, and load banks;
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Requirements• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Ability to travel up to 20%;
