Saint-Gobain Bonded Abrasives North America is a strategic, large & dynamic, multi-plant production business serving a diverse customer base with very technical products and processes.

We are looking for a highly motivated, results oriented, high performance business producer who will determine market and product needs and then promote the development, testing and introduction of improved and new products. The incumbent will also work with the internal manufacturing team on a variety of projects for his/her assigned end use product classifications. He/she will also work closely with the field sales organization providing technical support and solving product problems in order to address customer needs.

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
The successful candidate should possess the following requirements:
. Bachelors Degree in an engineering related discipline with 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
. Solid engineering background and a demonstrated skill for driving highly technical projects through to completion
. Strong mechanical aptitude, sales ability, and an appreciation of industrial equipment and processes
. Excellent computer skills are required
. Able to write clearly and be comfortable speaking convincingly as a large amount of his/her time is spent working with people within and outside of the company
. Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills
. Able to make independent decisions as well as operate in a team environment
. Demonstrated skill in both working in teams and in independently driven work

JOB DESCRIPTION:
. The incumbent will support both organic and vitrified products that are sold primarily in the Automotive, Bearing and Steel Industries. He/she must gain an intimate knowledge of assigned products & applications.
. As a technical product and application specialist, the incumbent provides technical information and assistance to Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, R&D, customers and distributors for all matters relating to the product design, specifications, quality, use, marketing and promotion.
. The successful candidate will generally work on short range, technically difficult projects. This includes selection, development, testing, evaluation and introduction of standard, modified or new products; the study of competitive products and activities; evaluation of markets and market conditions. Weekly and monthly status reporting is critical to keep his/her supervisor informed.
. Approximately 40% of his/her time will be spent on project work and 60% to provide daily technical assistance.
. The incumbent works with a minimum of supervision; is competent in planning and organizing his/her work activities; highly motivated and overcomes problems as they arise. A high degree of self-discipline, self-motivation, and enthusiasm should be evident to all that work with him/her.
. The Product Engineer will spend 30-50% of his/her time in the field working with internal sales personnel, customers and
distributors. While working in the field, the incumbent is often involved in second or third shift work and is subject to
occasional weekend travel.
