Client needs a Product Engineer to join their team at their central Michigan location. Have 9 global sites. Automotive background needed of 2-5 years. Will support customer and sales team to deliver product. Must be able to read blue prints and make small adjustments as needed with CAD software. Bachelors in Engineering is a must. BSME is ideal. Permanent position.
Responsibilities:
-> Co-manage projects from design through production
-> Work directly with customers and sales team to provide product that meets the set requirements of client
-> Coordinate designs requirements between customer and design engineers
-> Involved in product design reviews
-> Explain ideas and information as well as make presentations
-> Will report to Product Engineering Manager
Requirements:
-> Engineering degree (preferably Mechanical)
-> Blueprint reading skills are critical along with ability to make small changes using CAD software
-> 1-5 years experience in the automotive industry
-> Familiar with Catia, Ideas, or Unigraphics design software
-> Ideally, have experience with General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, or other supplier processes
-> Knowledgeable of APQP process and Problem solving techniques
-> Proficient in MS office programs (Excel, Word, Project, Power-point, etc.)
