Product Marketing Manager - Applications
Role and Responsibilities: · Drive Industry Solutions (Oil and Gas Production) growth initiative and execute global marketing plans to support long-term division growth objectives. · Develop application strategy to for global solutions across product families. · Determine best approach in each case and consider â??make versus buyâ? opportunities. · Interface with Customers, Sales Channels, other Emerson Divisions and internal departments to understand and identify specific customer needs for new applications and market opportunities; attend trade shows, schools, regulatory meetings when appropriate; read trade journals and stay abreast of industry trends · Develop Functional Requirement Specifications for new application products. · Develop specific value messaging for Application and lead sales tool development (segment specific. presentations, white papers, QBRs). · Develop pricing strategy and structure; manage tactical pricing and price points to balance penetration and profit realization. · Work with Marcom in developing and implementing promotional programs and collateral materials specific to Applications initiatives. · Support New Product Development (NPD) process through market research, solution ideas and concepts, and opportunity quantification. Drive prioritization process for application developments. · Articulate investment needs to capture fair share of the opportunities and to grow market participation in targeted segments. · Analyze competitive offerings and related industry products for capability, pricing, and positioning. Job Requirements Experience and Education Requirements: · A bachelorâ??s degree in Engineering or Marketing. Equivalent experience may be substituted for one degree. · At least 5 years of related Industry experience. · A good understanding of the Remote Automation Solutions product/services portfolio and their interrelationships. Preferred Knowledge and Skills: · Strong business acumen. · Strong business development skills. · Good Interpersonal savvy and consultative personality. · A demonstrated track record of Action Orientation and commitment to Drive for Results. · Excellent communication and presentation skills; the ability to articulate information and communicate programs to all stakeholders. · Demonstrated influence skills.
