The Product Specialist is responsible for assisting the Product Managers with day to day activities including price quotations, new product development, product certification, and forecasting, Key tasks will be directed by the Product Managers to help promote activities in multiple sales channels including both the professional OEM customers as well as working with the retail teams to secure new business opportunities. This will include working with multiple disciplines including sales, finance, engineering, and marketing communications.General Duties: * Evaluate quotation requests and make recommendations on customer pricing based on margin and market conditions * Create reports and models based on competitive market prices and maintain accurate and current files on all competitive products. Make recommendations on any potential pricing revisions. * Become active in the new product development process and work with teams involved in the execution of these projects. This will include working closely with engineering and sourcing teams located in multiple global locations. * Work with the operations team in identifying stocking levels and production plans. This will include communicating with the operations group of market trends and sales forecasts for both new and legacy products. * Assist / train sales staff and customers with product portfolio knowledge. * Become involved with the development of product literature, price lists, marketing training programs and presentations, promotional material and packaging for multiple channels at Pentair Residential Filtration. * Develop a solid working knowledge of the customers, products, and competitors so products can be marketed and priced appropriately. * Develop and analyze sales reports from internal sources in order to identify key issues, trends, and opportunities. Become proficient in Pentair’s ERP systems and all pertinent reporting software packages to compile date needed for the necessary analysis. * Daily support of projects revolving around the application, product, and engineering support functions for both continuous business operations as well as new business opportunities.
