Production Engineer II Category: Engineer Type: Description: Production Engineering responsibilities for new GM Gen3SV HP Pump localization. Primary responsibilities will include Body, Plunger, and Cylinder Machining and Assembly process development.
The primary responsibility of this position is to design, develop, and establish capability and controls for new process/product technologies in the Machining area. Other responsibilities include: Manage investment budget, equipment investment planning for new business, corporate approval process, equipment acquisition (scheduling, budget control, design reviews, run-offs, installation, and validation), technology transfer to internal departments (PRD, DE, QA, etc.), and advanced technical support for production related issues. In addition to the technical attributes of this position, there are additional leadership responsibilities. This may include leading the efforts of a cross-functional team, from various departments, to coordinate various sub-project management activities. This position will interact with representatives from all internal departments, engineers from other sitesand customer engineers to ensure that program goals are met, schedules are maintained, and problems encountered during the development process are satisfactorily resolved. The candidate may need to travel to multiple global locations to support project development leadership.
Requirements: The ideal candidate will: - Possess a bachelors or masters degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or other technical field. - Have a minimum of 2 years applicable experience in a manufacturing environment. - Have the ability to lead project development task management. - Have strong CNC programming capability - Have experience with Machining processes (Stainless Steel, Honing, Washing, …) - Have the ability to work independently or in a team environment - Have the ability to manage projects within a defined budget and schedule. - Have the ability to lead and mentor lesser experienced engineers. - Have experience interfacing with customers. - Have 3-D modeling software experience (Solidworks, ProEngineer, etc.). - Have experience coordinating and facilitating multiple projects simultaneously and with high level responsibility for major capital projects.
