Desired Skills: Description: Position Description 1. Performs all labor activities of assigned work area as needed (approximately 80% of time) 2. Assists with Supervising all shop floor personnel in the assigned area (approximately 20% of time) 3. Reads and interprets prints, specifications, manufacturing memos, engineering changes and job orders. Directs any questions that may arise to the shift supervisor. 4. Operates over-head and jib cranes safely and proficiently 5. Assigns personnel to specific areas or projects 6. Assures that the personnel have the required instruction, tools, parts, prints, etc. 7. Supports production throughput to meet or exceed the master production schedule in assigned area 8. Monitors/tracks hours worked by employees, evaluates based on established standards, helps establish new standards and communicates performance to production employees 9. Works toward increasing efficiencies in all facets of manufacturing 10. Works with and maintains excellent communication with all departments at all levels to insure that products and processes meet standards of Quality, Safety, Cost and Delivery 11. Uniformly enforces and acts as a role model in the adherence to company rules, policies and procedures set forth by the company handbook and management 12. Provides input in evaluating the work of personnel in area 13. Assists personnel, through education and training, to improve their understanding of the machinery and product being produced 14. May assist in preparation of performance evaluations of personnel by qualifying and quantifying the skills, abilities, strengths and weaknesses of all people in the assigned area of responsibility 15. Works any and all shifts as required 16. Assists with tests, interviews and evaluates skills and potential of new hire or posted candidates 17. Attend continuing education as directed by the company 18. Train production personnel on work instructions and safe operating procedures while also identifying pers Position Requirements 1. Prefer a minimum of 5 years trailer manufacturing experience 2. Possess competencies, or possess the ability to learn competencies, with all fixtures, routings, structures, etc. that affect the assigned area 3. Possess an excellent work history 4. Must be able to work up to a 12 hour shift 5. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to work with all levels of management and staff 6. Open minded and possess the skills to research and weigh all facts before coming to conclusions or making decisions 7. Possess the ability to control emotions in stressful situations 8. Self motivated and an independent worker 9. Possess strong organizational and planning skills 10. Willing and able to work a flexible schedule, including any and all shifts, in order to cover any assigned work area 11. Familiar with Lean Enterprise/Manufacturing concepts 12. Experience with computers 13. Previous supervision experience is required
