PRODUCTION MANAGER (Food Manufacturing)

Food production or food manufacturing duties and responsibilities:
Track and control labor efficiencies and food costs.
Oversee quality control facets of the Operation to include compliance with GMP’s, SOP’s, and SSOP’s.
Provide constant training and supervision in the production area and maintain a regular floor presence throughout the production shift.
Oversee all HACCP paperwork and verifications.
Manage the product retention program.
Maintain organization of the production floor, storage and cooler areas.
Oversee product flow thru the production line and chilling phase.
Ensure proper execution of all Critical Control Points. Maintain all proper and standard documentation.
Prepare employees schedules.
Assist in third party production audits.
Maintain a safe work environment for employees.
Supervise and manage employee performance to include new hire training, continual training, and retraining to meet operational goals.
Promote cooperation and team work through effective communication, training, and mentoring of staff.
Qualifications and skills needed:
Minimum formal education, experience and training:
At least 3-4 years experience as a manager or supervisor in a food manufacturing facility preferred. Word processing skills using a personal computer. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Food production or food manufacturing
Basic purpose:
Lead the start up and ongoing operation for the production floor. This position has the direct responsibility of producing the products in a timely, consistent and quality manner while controlling labor and food costs. This position requires the ability to lead through example. To do this, the position requires a thorough knowledge of the products, process and equipment.
Requirements:
Preferred education, experience and training:
Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree a plus not required. Bi-lingual language skills preferred.
Other knowledge and skills:
A through knowledge of the product, process and equipment.
Data entry skills, excellent interpersonal skills, previous supervisory experience. Must have a high energy level and the ability to be flexible and adaptable in a fast paced environment.
