AutoReqId 35624BR Function Manufacturing Division North America Truck External Job Title Production Manager- South Bend, IN Job Description Eaton Corporation located in South Bend, Indiana has an immediate opening for a Production Manager. The South Bend plant is a part of Eatons Industrial Sector and produces forgings in support of the Truck North America Division. The facility is an integral part of the divisions growth and operational platforms worldwide. Reporting to the Plant Manager, South Bend, this position is responsible manage plant operations and support functions to optimize business objectives comprised of meeting and exceeding customer expectations, profit plan, business growth, safety, productivity, quality, cost, delivery, employee engagement, manager effectiveness, culture, and organization capability.
Key responsibilities of this role include but may not be limited to: A. Direct the processing of product at the most economical cost consistent with prescribed safety, quality and performance standards. B. Recommend and assist in establishing and maintaining budgets, manpower and equipment requirements and methods for handling scrap and rework. C. Provide regular training that will enable subordinate supervisory personnel to better direct the operation of their department and assess performance. D. Prepare reports and keep records as required. E. Monitor established maintenance controls to see that they are followed as they relate to physical plant and production operation. F. Control incoming material per established procedures and see that finished material is shipping according to schedules established by production planner. G. Approve requisitions within the manufacturing area for equipment, repairs, suppliers and services as authorized and recommend to plant manager other purchases. H. Establish managerial leadership, credibility and trust. I. Supervise and advise shift coaches and review accordingly to division guidelines. J. Direct SPC programs on shop floor to insure consistent quality and continuous product improvements. K. Manage continual cultural change. L. Manager cross functional business unit.
Job Qualifications /Educational Requirements To be considered for this role a candidate must possess the following qualifications: 1. Bachelors degree in business or other relevant field, Masters Preferred. 2. Broad technical knowledge in the areas of manufacturing processes, quality assurance, plant engineering, production/materials planning and systems application. 3. Broad financial knowledge for asset management, budgeting and profit plan obtainment. 4. Ability to motivate, counsel, and constructively deal with teammates at all levels.
