Production Manager
OEM Contract Engineering and Manufacturing Firm
YorkPennsylvania
Production Manager needed for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) contract engineering firm that designs and manufactures custom environmental control units, refrigeration and heat transfer equipment for cooling electronic equipment. Position reports directly to VP/General Manager.
Responsibilities include:
* Plans, organizes, directs and manages plant staff and resources to cost-effectively run production operations.
* Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to improve processes, enhance quality, reduce costs and improve on-time-delivery of products.
* Plans, directs, and controls activities of supervisors and leads in order to meet overall departmental and plant objectives
* Ensures that equipment and machines are properly maintained and operated by assigned operators.
* Responsible to maintain a safe and hazard free plant floor.
* Selects and trains plant supervisory staff.
* Responsible for promoting positive morale and supporting team effectiveness on the production floor.
* Schedules and conducts supervisor meetings and plant meetings.
* Oversees the implementation and follow through of the 5S program.
Job Requirements
Successful candidates must have
* BS (4 year) degree in operations, business or related technical field; with Masters degree preferred.
* 3-5 years of manufacturing management experience, preferably in a contract engineering and manufacturing firm
* Experience implementing lean principles and ISO standards.
* Excellent communication, analytical and math skills
