POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Coordinate all aspects of production planning, raw material purchasing and nonstandard order entry for all items processed for / or in an assigned Value Stream or department(s). This coordination will support manufacturing through the product build cycle to product shipment, as well as the material flow of assigned purchased parts from requirement/demand to the established point of use. Establishing production schedules that result in a smooth workflow, on time component receipts / production completions, and promote customer satisfaction. Maintain inventory in support of manufacturing processes, plan and schedule usage of raw material, manufactured components and capacity consistent with Lean Principles.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: Establish daily production schedules for assigned product, with sufficient lead-time to determine in which sequence products and components will be manufactured or purchased to meet planned requirements. Create, review and release orders in a timely manner and perform transactions necessary to maintain accurate records and inventory balances. Review and utilize work center load data to identify and resolve capacity / load issues. Make or recommend revisions to existing production schedules. Monitor schedules and processes to assist departmental or value stream personnel in achieving the goals of on time completion. Notify and work with appropriate personnel when problems arise concerning equipment, operations, materials, inventory, documentation, invoice discrepancies, raw materials replenishment, delivery or quality performance. Solicit feedback, initiate corrective action and coordinate resolution of issues. Keep operations and management informed of critical situations. Respond to inquiries on customer orders. Ensure that inquiries are promptly and professionally responded to. Communicate with affected customers when schedules are revised. Establish, monitor and maintain accurate system record and planning data for assigned items. Communicate with sales and operations planning by providing input and feedback to management personnel. Plan all parts individually to meet the business needs. Develop, implement and coordinate part planning with shop operations to include such things as: l Plan For Every Part (PFEP) l Container and part count sizing l Returnable containers l Replenishment methods for supporting “Pull Systems” l Minimize human involvement in the replenishment processes l Integration of suppliers with production. Ensure prompt disposition of NCR’s to minimize impact to the production schedule. Coordinate ECN activity and the implementation of changes, which affect assigned items Review item forecast versus actual demand patterns. Make appropriate adjustments to maintain inventory levels. Identity excess and obsolete inventory, determine root cause and disposition, and take corrective action. Maintain mutually beneficial long-term relationships with assigned suppliers in an effort to foster continuous improvement and feedback. This includes following the Pentair Code of Business Conduct. Review, analyze and edit nonstandard orders against a defined set of input requirements. Identify discrepancies and communicate with appropriate personnel to resolve discrepancies. Process nonstandard orders promptly and accurately to provide the next operation with requested set of output requirements. Process all order changes, holds and cancellations. Advise appropriate personnel of cancellation costs identified. Initiate Return Goods Authorizations as required. Develop and maintain working knowledge of assigned Hoffman products and processes to complete all assigned responsibilities in a satisfactory manner. Comply with and support company policies and procedures and Hoffman Quality systems. Develops, maintains and distributes measurement reports as required. Performs rotational assignments as needed. Participates actively as a team member through continuous improvement and Lean activities. Performs other responsibilities / duties as apparent or assigned. ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS ESSENTIAL TO JOB DUTIES: Work is performed in an office environment. Sitting at a desk. Movement in and around facility. Use of hands and fingers to operate computer. Communication with internal and external customers, generally oral and written. Personal Computer / keyboard. Telephone / Fax / Copy machine. TRAINING / SKILLS REQUIRED: BS / BA Degree in business, engineering, materials management or comparable experience APICS certification preferred.
