Production Planner - Project Manager

HSI is seeking a Production Planner Project Manager Consultant in Norwalk, CT.


 


The PM will report to the Director of AIT.

 

The Production Planner will be responsible for the coordination and daily scheduling of implementation and quality assurance tasks for in house and outsourced staff. Projects will include bug fixes, new applications and change requests. The Production Planner will manage delivery to meet committed schedule and ensure standard process is followed to guarantee delivery to specification and an appropriate level of quality. 

 

Key areas of responsibility:


 




  • Production Planning-Project Management




    • Manage and work with the implementation and QA teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of bug fixes, new applications and application changes.



    • Ensure requirements and high-level designs have been completely and accurately documented and reviewed prior to assignment.



    • Manage the change control process and ensure clean cut-offs are enforced between releases.



    • Develop capacity plans that map resources against project activities.



    • Identify and manage interdependencies and risks and escalate potential schedule overruns with enough lead time to allow management to address.



    • Produce build schedules with committed delivery dates that reflect the critical path and the necessary resources.



    • Gain client commitment to the project schedule including items assigned to them.



    • Manage key stakeholders/contributors to ensure that all parties deliver to schedule and quality through the various development and testing environments.



    • Control project progress and reporting.





  • Post-project Review




    • Ensure that the objectives of the project have been met.



    • Review project conduct and experience to allow common issues to be collated and procedure/process to be revised where appropriate.






 


Responsibilities include:


Communicate the company process of implementation and change to the other Project Managers in order that our delivery is as expected.




  • Identify ‘general release’ items that should be rolled in to a single release to deliver change most efficiently for both the Company and the clients.



  • Identify, document and manage issues, risks, defects, changes and dependencies.



  • Create and maintain appropriate status reporting/dashboarding for all projects.



  • Co-ordinate any required meetings/reviews with the project teams for the initiation of projects.



  • Create reporting tools for internal communications that allow us to ‘call out’ red flag items and escalate them.



  • Develop a broad knowledge of the Company's IVR applications which are built using JavaScript, Voice Genie and the Company's platform for workflow, business rule specification, scheduling and integration.



  • Complete all tasks in accordance with published deadlines and standards, with the highest quality results.





Requirements:



  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent level of education and appropriate experience.



  • Six years of progressive experience in technical project management, with experience of delivering IVR applications being of particular relevance.



  • Project Management certification (Prince 2 or PMP) or comparable demonstration of expertise



  • Knowledge of the financial services industry.



  • Solid knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices including QA and review processes – familiarity with Waterfall and Iterative delivery models is preferred.



  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects across multiple teams -- mix of technical and functional resources is preferred.



  • Strong organizational, planning and personal time management skills.



  • Excellent interpersonal skills that include negotiation, conflict resolution, written and verbal communication.



  • Experience of managing the escalation process in the customer and own organization.



  • Experience with management of multiple streams of new and application enhancement development using source code control, ideally SVN.



  • Root cause analysis of project and process problems combined with associated resolution/prevention planning



  • Provide information to keep senior level management informed on the progress and issues relating to all projects.



  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and vendors.



  • Develops solutions and resolves scheduling conflicts under high-pressure situations with tight time frames.



  • An ability to understand complex design and implementation architectures across varied software, hardware and operating environment models and assess resulting schedule dependencies.



  • Experience of managing or delivering integrated applications is a plus.



  • Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate knowledge of additional European languages to a working level.
