Posted Position Title Production Supervisor - GE Energy Storage Career Level Experienced Function Manufacturing Function Segment Shop Operations Location United States U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces New York City Schenectady Postal Code 12345-6000 Role Summary/Purpose The Production Supervisor is primarily responsible for providing direction and material support for an assigned production team of approximately 50 production employees as well as solving problems, setting direction, eliminating waste in processes, owning visual management processes, assisting Value Stream Leader in business commitments and planning, and encouraging the team to achieve their performance improvement results.
Essential Responsibilities · Act as a resource to attain all aspects of the production operation including safety, scheduling, quality, and team development· Promote customer satisfaction and develop positive customer relationships · Assist Value Stream Leader in driving Lean Vision by leading and participating in Action Workouts (kaizen) and utilizing Lean Six Sigma tools to improve processes
Qualifications/Requirements · Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 5 years of operations leadership · At least 1 additional year of experience in manufacturing, quality, sourcing or operations

Desired Characteristics · Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Management, Engineering or Operations · 2+ years experience in Lean Manufacturing Supervision · Proven application of Lean methodology and 2+ years Lean deployment experience · Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification· Strong PC, Microsoft access, Data warehouse and production planning experience · Ability to work in a fast pace, high intensity environment while spending majority of time on shop floor · Effective coaching, facilitation and team building skills · Willingness to be coached in lean methodology · Change Agent with a demonstrated commitment for process improvement via lean problem solving tools · Effective written and oral communication skills · Working knowledge of engineering drawings / specifications and manufacturing processes · Self-directed, highly detail oriented, organized, and flexible · Knowledge of safety agency regulations is preferred
