Here, production supervisors have the opportunity to apply their team-building and problem-solving skills, coordinate product launches and serve as liaisons between union and salaried workers. In operations, change is a constant with the introduction of new products, the implementation of new technology and the recruitment of additional team members to keep pace with our continuing growth.
What You'll Do
John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline, IL is seeking a Production Supervisor in a union environment. In this position you will: * Manage day-to-day operations of the harvesting front end equipment department. * Lead the department in Safety, Quality, efficiency, and delivery. * Guide the Continuous Improvement team through planning and execution.
We need an excellent communicator, who thrives on solving problems and working in a team environment. Ideally you will have a bachelors degree in anEngineering/Technologydiscipline or equivalent supervisory experience in lieu of a 4 year degree. In addition we require: * 2 or more years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. * Proven experience leading teams to achieve safety, quality, efficiency, and delivery goals. * Willingness to work off shifts. A strong candidate will also have experience in one or more of the following areas: Kaizan, continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, 5s, material flow principles, manpower planning, and a union production environment.
