Our Emissions Control Technologies division is looking for a Production Supervisor to be based at its Brampton, Ont location.

The role of a Production Supervisor is to manage the production performance, personnel issues and the Health, Safety&Environment (HSE) standards of several Autonomous Production Groups (GAP). The main mission of the role are to:

QCDP Performance:
* Make sure QCD indicators reflect customer expectations
*
Define, with the supervisors of the other shifts and the UAP manager, QCDP targets for the GAPs (improvement versus actual situation): ppm, pph, TRS, absenteeism, number of accidents, improvement ideas.
*
Monitor performance during the shift and report accurate data at the end of the shift
*
Manage resources to reach results: adapt headcount to volume, etc
*
React in case of a problem: take care of immediate containment, call support functions, build corrective action plans
*
Replace GAP leader when necessary
*
Drive actions for improvement:
o Know team problems, seek feedback
o Define area for performance improvements
o Drive teamwork and problem-solving activities, lead Problem Solving Groups and workshops (5S, Hoshin, TPM, SMED, 6 Quality Basics.)
o Drive improvement ideas generation and implementation
o Ensure audits of standardized work are conducted by GAP leaders on a daily basis & ensure corrective actions are taking place
o Audits standardized work once a week with each GAP Leader to ensure the process is respected/followed

People Management (leading by example in terms of rigor and discipline):
*
Ensures daily management
*
Permanent presence on the Shopfloor: daily contact with all team members, close supervision of the line
*
Manage headcount: plan people allocation the day before for the next day, and for the week
*
Coach GAP Leaders and team members on how to perform their role
*
Support and help fix problems
*
Ensure discipline and rigor (work wear, break times, absenteeism, etc.)
*
Ensure the respect of safety instructions, policies and procedures
*
Development of the team
*
Participate in selection and recruitment of staff
*
Ensure proper induction of new operators and members on the line
*
Build training plan to increase team autonomy and development of people; ensure training/coaching
*
Complete annual performance reviews for all team members
*
Validation of polyvalence and task transfer
*
Ensure recognition of individual performance: propose promotion, etc.
*
Ensure proper flow of information to and from the team: top 5 with GAP Leaders, regular information meetings, rapid cascade of critical information and of messages from management
Health, Safety and Environment and working conditions:
* Responsible for ensuring full respect of HSE rules and regulations and containing safety issues
* Take lead on accident investigations, QRQC and updating the risk analysis
* Develop and facilitate return to work plans for operators on modified duties in cooperation with health & safety
* Lead HSE core teams and drive the implementation of such teams
* Drive improvement of working conditions and ergonomics
Team work:
* Ensure transparent, timely communication with UAP manager and internal customers
* Arrive before start of shift in order to ensure transfer of all information from the supervisor of previous shift
* Work with supervisory colleagues to improve UAP performance
* Participate at UAP Top 5 and report line performance, successes and issues as well as actions initiated.
The ideal candidate will have/be:
*
Bachelor's degree in Operations
*
2-5 years of team management experience
*
production experience in a manufacturing environment, preferrably automotive
*
Team Player
*
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
*
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
