Job Description Summary: Manage department shift operations, work with peers and subordinates on all shifts to create a positive team environment. Demonstrate ability to supervise non-exempt employees in a production environment. Manage and provide support to facilitate improved processes.
Achieve production schedule through scheduling of material, manpower, and equipment. Barriers include material availability, manpower resources and accuracy of information.
Effectively communicate with the team regarding accomplishments, short term plans, issues, and training, via lean daily management at shift start-up meetings. Apply effective feedback and develop team.
Ensure compliance to safety requirements and improve general housekeeping and 5S rating. Ensure compliance with environmental policies including hazardous waste management rules. Focus on the identification processes and procedure to continually improve quality of products manufactured or assembled. Complete production schedule requirements on time while operating within established budgetary requirements. Continually decrease operating costs of area. Maintain ongoing two-way communications with cell/area team including: cell associates, cell support group, Shop Floor Control, Industrial Engineering, and off shifts. Maintain efficient utilization of manpower and machines to attain output.
Decrease product cost through continuous improvement activities, effective utilization of manpower, machines, materials and methods.
Reduce OSHA Incident Rate and attain compliance through weekly safety audits, monthly safety meetings, required safety training, implementation of 5S practices, identification of chemicals and containers, root cause correction, and enforcement of all regulatory and management policies and procedures.
Improve product quality through assurance of operator capability and compliance to specifications. Basic Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Operations management or related field. One (1) year of machining, assembly, or finishing experience. One (1) year of direct supervisory experience with non-exempt employees. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and written.
Preferred Qualifications: 4 yr. degree with one year of machining, assembly , or finishing experience. Two years of direct supervisor experience. Fully practicing continuous improvement methodologies.
