* Responsible for managing the production performance, personnel issues and the Health, Safety, & Environmental (HSE) standards of several GAP (Autonomous Production Groups). * Lead the Quality Cost & Delivery (QCD) Performance for designated groups: * Direct QCD initiatives: set targets, implement plans, track daily results, make appropriate adjustments in resource planning in order to attain desired results. * Drive actions for improvement: communicate with UAP Manager, Production Supervisors of other shifts, and support functions to ensure a transparent information flow, collaborate to define improvement areas and action plans. * Manage team performance: know team problems, define areas for performance improvements with team members, drive teamwork, lead problem solving groups, lead workshops on quality improvements (5S, TPM). * Manage the personnel issues of the assigned team * Develop the team: ensure proper staffing, integrate new team members, foster individual development plans, advise and arrange for appropriate training, assure punctual job evaluations, etc. * Ensure that working conditions are fully compliant with Group HSE standards: interfere in production line in case of safety risks and drive improvement of working conditions and ergonomics. * Provide guidance to Materials, Production, Quality, and Maintenance personnel on long term goals as well as regular feedback regarding day to day performance. * Continuously improve work unit performance through coaching, challenges, skill enhancement and communication of organizational goals. Oversee the Improvement Idea Implementation Program within the GAPs in order to meet and exceed plant targets. * Ensure Associates understand FES Systems and maintain that all initiatives of this system are being met and followed. Ensure Employee Empowerment (EE), Production Systems Efficiency (PSE), Quality Systems Efficiency (QSE) and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) initiatives are being met: daily startup meetings, 5S, transfer of information at shift change, polyvalence, task transfer where applicable, production target boards, standardized work, and QRQC. * Provide direction and training and monitor production Associates and group leaders through group interaction, cross training, problem solving, making recommendations and management support. * Ensure health and safety of the employees through the prevention of occupational injuries and illness due to unsafe acts and working conditions. Follow and enforce all safety procedures. * Set and maintain good housekeeping (5S) standards throughout the plant. * Co-ordinate maintenance during breakdowns. * Follow all TS 16949, ISO 14001, and Layered Process Auditing as assigned by management. * Establish HSE Core Teams and ensure regular audits. * Ensure all company rules and policies are followed and enforced. Assist Associates with Human Resources/Labor Issues. Work with the Human Resources Department to ensure attendance and Employee Relations issues and opportunities are prevented or corrected. * Ensure Associates are working safely within a safe environment. * Participate in Corrective Action Teams to improve production and quality Review Group Leaders and Associates performance including documentation and corrective actions Report to the UAP Manager all relevant information relating to such items as Quality, Employee Relations, and Production Performance. * Complete all associated documentation, reporting and other paper work in a timely manner. * Motivate and maintain morale among Associates and Group Leaders. Lead and promote the group approach to problem solving within GAP and cells. * Participate in 5S, implement 5S improvements * Participate and lead Hoshin and Continuous Improvement Events as assigned by management * Stay informed of quality issues and opportunities as they relate to position and/or department(s). Follow procedures and corrective action assignments as required to eliminate or reduce PPM's. * Production: Ensure Key Performance Indicator targets (KPI's) as defined by Plant Management are achieved for each period * Materials: Inventory Accuracy (Physical Inventory); shift reporting accuracy * Maintenance: Preventive maintenance where assigned to Production and labor utilization * Responsible to ensure all training for personnel in GAP is completed, signed-off, and reported to HR in a timely manner * Practice and enforce 5S standards. Maintain good housekeeping standards. * Conduct audits as assigned * Work in a safe manner and follow all safety procedures and policies. * Participate in Hoshin and other continuous Improvement activities as assigned by management. * Stay informed of environmental aspects, follow procedures and work to eliminate or reduce the FMEA ratings as they relate to position and/or department(s). * Stay informed of quality issues and opportunities as they relate to position and/or department. * Submit Continuous Improvement ideas. * Complete all other duties and tasks as assigned by management. Qualifications :The ideal candidate will have/be:
* Minimum High School Diploma required, Bachelor of Science Degree preferred * 1-3 years of production experience * Minimum 2+ years supervisory experience preferred * Automotive manufacturing experience preferred * Team player * Strong interpersonal and communication skills * Strong analytical and problem solving skills * Proven leadership ability * Proper use of English language
