The Programmer Analyst (in securities) will work under the direction of a Lead Programmer Analyst and alongside other IT Security Professionals. The team’s primary responsibility is to operate, support and administer organization Audit Certification Systems. These systems are J2EE enterprise systems designed to support UPS’s annual and quarterly audit readiness activities. The successful candidate will be able lead and support IT and F&A end users in their use of these systems.
Responsibilities:
Use organization Audit Certification Systems to ensure Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) management controls and principles are effectively met and identified for certification.
Ensure organization Financial Audit readiness tasks are implemented on time and as required.
Develop Java code and JavaScript to support appropriate, compliant programmatic work arounds for approved exceptions. Ensure all programmatic work arounds meet Internal Audit requirements.
Administer company Audit Certification Systems and produce reports, system logs, and completeness statistics as necessary to support the audit process.
Support and monitor organization Audit Certification Systems. Interface with organization and vendor support and development staff as necessary, to operate and maintain organization Audit Certification Systems system.
Develop new and update existing organization Audit Certification Systems Best Practices Guides and facilitate user awareness and understanding of said practices.
Facilitate pre-audit testing and user acceptance testing. Assist in writing test cases and test scripts to support pre-audit testing and user acceptance testing.
Provide system, incident and project status reports as required.
Knowledge and Skills:
Software development experience with Java/J2EE and demonstrated fluency in Java.
Proven experience developing, designing, and supporting J2EE applications across all tiers including business logic, database and end user reporting.
Experience with XML, JDBC, and SQL query development. Intermediate level knowledge of web based application architectures.
Demonstrated experience in creation, interpretation and execution of shell, Perl & batch scripts.
Knowledge of general Internet technologies and protocols (e.g. SFTP, HTTP, SSH, SSL, TLS, RDP)
General knowledge of Information Security technologies and principles.
General knowledge of financial reporting systems and financial audit requirements is desirable.
Experience with SailPoint Identity IQ and Oracle Weblogic products is desirable
Minimum Business Skills:
Skilled in the areas of analytical, problem solving and decision making.
Clear and articulate verbal and written communication skills; including teamwork, motivation and relationship building.
Demonstrated ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, & Visio)
Proficiency in use of MS Windows and Linux/UNIX enterprise environments.
Knowledge of mainframe z/OS environment is desirable.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in either Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related discipline or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience.
Professional Work Experience:
3 to 5 years’ experience as a programmer analyst, security engineer or developer focusing on security working on large scale enterprise projects. SANS GIAC/GSEC, CISSP, CISA, or comparable certification is desirable.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.
No relatives who are employed by UPS or any of its subsidiaries.
Bachelor's degree in either Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience.
