Job Description: The Key Job Elements Include: Will be responsible for diesel engine component design, prototype development, testing, and manufacturing support. Must be able to work in cross-functional teams, and coordinate with internal departments as well as outside suppliers. Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently with little supervision on complex design analyses. Strong interpersonal skills are essential to effectively communicate with co-workers and senior management. Job requires strong written skills to provide technical reports and operating procedures. Able to identify customer field failures and provide timely and cost effective solutions. Candidate must be able to prepare, manage, and track project budgets. Required: -Minimum BS in Mechanical Engineering--preferred advanced mechanical engineering degree -Ability to make sketches, read engineering drawings and conduct common engineering mechanical and engine performance computations -Must be familiar with basic machining tools and manufacturing processes -Ten or more years of experience in diesel engine design/performance -Have knowledge of engineering theory and principles related to engine mechanical design and performance -Familiar with medium speed diesel engine exhaust system aftertreatment devices -Preferred experience in emissions testing and optimization -High level of oral and written skills -Willing to travel as required, up to 30% Preferred: Preferred experience with system level integration in complex highly engineered products We are proud to be an EEO/AA employer M/F/D/V.
