Project Engineer-Product Design/Development Projects/Consumer Products/Manufacturing
Leading manufacturer near Greenville, SC has immediate needs for Project Engineers. Seeking candidates who can manage design and development projects for new products. Product experience with consumer products such as appliances, electronics,televisions will be ideal. Benefits and relocation assistance is available. The posted salary range is just an approximation. Salary will depend on experience.
Responsibilities:
-> Manage all aspects of a project from inception through production launch - work with design, test labs, marketing, industrial design, sales, purchasing, and manufacturing towards the successful launch of new consumer products
-> Develop project investment and cost budgets?capital, cost, and expense estimation to develop product targets for financial viability review
-> Develop and track test plan to ensure product meets product quality targets
-> Responsible for leading a team, design and problem resolution to design, develop and implement robust designs with proper verification, validation and manufacturing sign off for seamless product introduction
Requirements:
-> BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical BS degree is required. MS in Engineering preferred.
-> PMP preferred
-> Minimum of 7 years related engineering and/or project management experience is required
-> Understanding of materials and processes used in product design such as plastics, metal fabrication, glass
-> Proficient with tools associated with new project development activities such as stage gate development processes, DFMEA, design reviews, project planning, part tracking and milestone schedule management
-> Understanding of design for manufacturing (DFM)
-> Experience with computer applications: MS Office, MS Project, and Lotus Notes
