Project Manager-Motion Control/Project Management/Motors / Gears/ Linear Motion
Central Florida based leader in motion-control solutions seeks hands on Engineering Project Manager to manage projects as well as a department of 6-7 reports. Company offers excellence in motion-control solutions for client applications which combine gears, electric motors, encoders and DC motor controls into intelligent drive systems. All candidates must fill out questionnaire that will be submitted with resume. Salary is based on experience and pays between $75-$95 K a year; in addition to the salary, there are performance based bonuses up to 10% of base.
Responsibilities:
-> Plan and direct all Engineering activities within the company, including manufacturing administration, Design Team Projects and Internal Research & Development Projects
-> Recommend and work to implement process improvements in both business and manufacturing areas to ensure production processes and manufacturing flows are efficient
-> Ensure product modifications are documented in a timely manner
-> Plan and create Configuration Department Goals
-> Direct the Design Team to ensure efficient completion of Design projects
-> Coordinate and direct the Engineering Test workload of the Engineering laboratory
-> Plan and execute lean initiative projects utilizing the most appropriate Lean Manufacturing Techniques
Requirements:
-> Proven experience with product development of customized applications using motors, gears, linear motion etc. to support products in the robotics, medical device, security, or military applications industries (automotive experience alone is not a fit)
-> 5+ years of project management AND some direct supervisory experience
-> Candidate must be organized and efficient to ensure completion of Value Added Design requests while meeting customer requirements
-> Excellent interpersonal skills
-> Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required, with minimum five years management experience
