Job Responsibilities Include:
* Manage multiple, simultaneous projects involving custom built food processing and packaging machinery and controls, from conceptualization through start-up at the customer?s site and receipt of final payment, with focus on most projects after hand-off from our sales teams.
* Some projects will require hiring and managing installation contractors.
* Interface with sales and customers to determine project scope and specifications. Estimate project costs and generate system proposals for custom equipment.
* Review and negotiate customer purchase orders, specifications and related documents.
* Establish and drive project schedule.
* Procure specialized machinery from outside vendors.
* Follow equipment through mechanical and electrical engineering, manufacturing, check-out, shipping to see that customer specifications are met.
* Provide guidance and support to our field service department during installation and start-up.
* Manage all scope, specification, schedule changes.
* Monitor and analyze project costs and provide recommendations for future similar projects.


Education/Job History/Skills Required Include:
* B.S. degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred, although related degree would also be acceptable.
* Three (3) or more years of project engineering / management experience in the food industry, or with a custom machinery manufacturer. Familiarity with U.S. regulations and industry standards pertaining to food equipment is desired.
* Spanish speaking/writing desirable.
* Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel. SAP, MS Project, AutoCAD, and Siebel CRM knowledge desired.


Additional Comments:We are seeking to hire a leader who is able to direct and motivate cross-functional teams and vendors to meet project objectives, and earn the respect of external and internal customers. In this highly visible position, you will need to interact effectively with most U.S. divisions and departments at Heat and Control on a regular basis, and will need to be able to resolve conflicts in a creative and positive manner. You will need to develop a thorough understanding of many of Heat and Control?s customized products and business processes. You need to be a self starter, and able to prioritize and organize your daily activities. You must possess excellent verbal and written English communication skills; be able to identify and summarize key issues yet also be able to accurately, completely and concisely communicate details when needed.
Some travel required, mostly within the U.S. (less than 25 %).
