Job Description
Project Manager provides business and technical leadership for high-priority, complex and cross-functional projects to support the facility strategy. Accountable for overall project performance including integration of project activities, project resources, financial achievement and is a liaison for senior management and other internal and external stakeholders. Delivers on milestone commitments based on plan inputs and will manage stakeholder expectations. Defines and communicates scope of work for project team. Plans and schedules project implementation. Responsible for defining scope of work for project team.
Leads cross functional teams in complex assignments, on a project by project basis.
Provides business and technical leadership for new products or services.
Accountable for overall project performance including, integration of project activities, liaison for senior management and other stakeholders, project resources and financial achievement.
Leads key project teams through the initiation and implementation processes.
Participate in other key strategic business portfolio processes to ensure alignment with project objectives.
Participates in the evaluation and feasibility process for potential projects.
Provides clear direction on project requirements to meet expectations of external customers and business stakeholders.
Interacts through program and/or project updates and reviews with all levels of management.
Drives implementation of projects by establishing strategy, schedules, budgets, and financial analysis.
Drives use of Baxter's Project Management Methodology throughout projects.
Approves team deliverables for project completion.
Eliminates or minimizes barriers to progress.
Anticipates potential conflict situations, identifies and acts on proactive solutions.
Job Requirements
Bachelors Degree required, Masters Degree preferred. Degree in Engineering or Science preferred. Minimum 7-8 years of professional experience and 10+ years of project management experience.
PMP, IPMA, or equivalent certification.
•Knowledge of cGMP manufacturing.
•Good interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment.
•Must have ability to lead cross-functional teams.
•Must have the following personal attributes: integrity and trust, work ethic, sound judgment, intellectual honesty, pragmatism, courage and conviction.
•Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs.
•In general, the position requires a combination of sedentary work and walking around observing conditions in the facility.
•Normal office environment.
•May be required to travel for business reasons, e.g. training and meetings.
•Must be able to work in controlled or clean room environments requiring special gowning. Will be required to follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. No make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish or artificial fingernails may be worn in these work environments.
•May be around moving equipment and machinery.
•Inside working conditions.
•Will have interaction with other people.
•Pace may be fast and job completion demands may be high.
