Job Description
Candidate will be responsible for primarily US based sourcing and project management activities for indirect goods and services, with specific support for the Human Resources, Benefits, and other assigned categories. This position will be responsible for the execution and day to day management of top projects within the assigned commodities.
This position will utilize Baxter's spend data, as well as networking capabilities and other investigation techniques to determine, prioritize and source new areas of savings opportunities. Project duties include:
•Evaluation and execution of project objectives
•Market and industry research and benchmarking
•Understanding, documenting and meeting customer requirements
•Request for Information/Quotation/Proposal (RFI/RFQ/RFP) creation, issuance and evaluation
•Supporting and where appropriate leading supplier workshops, supplier selection and negotiation and contracting
•Contract / Supplier Implementation
•Creation and reporting of category and supplier metrics and measurements
•High quality execution of long term strategy plans Key measurements of success will be built around total spend management and value add concepts, which include but is not limited to savings, stakeholder relationship development, spend optimization, project execution, service enhancement, and category compliance.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred with 3-5 years of indirect purchasing experience equivalent. Six Sigma/APP experience a plus. Strong communication, project management, internal / external negotiation and contracting abilities are required. The position will require developed change management and influencing skills in order to gain buy-in, support ,and compliance . This position will be required to ensure Purchasing processes are followed while business timelines are still met for the project. Additionally, candidates must possess strong financial analysis abilities, excellent decision making capabilities and establish strong control processes to ensure maximum benefit for agreements. Prior experience in negotiating Advertising, Marketing and Marketing Research is highly preferred. Strong technical purchasing skills including negotiation and contracting. This position requires an advanced level of problem solving, internal influencing, prioritization and excellent conflict management skills. Must be able to interface with all levels of management. High level of communication skills both written and verbal.
