Description

The primary function of this position is to oversee the quality assurance (50%) and safety functions (50%). This includes the planning and coordination of activities that support the quality assurance of manufacturing processes, materials, and products as well as the planning and coordination of activities thasupport our safety program.

QA Responsibilities

• Assist with the setup, management, and improvement of our overall Quality Management System.
• Provide quality support to engineering during the design process.
• Establish inspection/test criteria for parts, assemblies, and products.
• Develop inspection plans for incoming materials and in-process parts.
• Ensure we have the proper tools/equipment to perform inspections.
• Oversee processes to manage deviations, discrepant material, corrective action, and continuous improvement.
• Track key quality metrics and report to management along with recommendations for improvements.


Safety Responsibilities

• OSHA reporting (injury, accident, near miss)
• Create, maintain, & update companywide safety programs for all employees
• Facilitate & keep records of safety meetings
• Coordinate safety audits and reporting for installation & service of x-ray systems
• EPA reporting; ensure NSI adheres to codes via reporting waste & recycling
• Keep accurate, up to date, detailed safety records & certifications
• Coordinate & track safety training for all NSI employees


Requirements


Bachelor's degreein an engineering/physical science discipline or anAssociate’s degree with CQE certification. Minimum of 5 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment with2-3 years of safety coordination

Sucessful candidates will have:
* Will have a fundamental understanding of quality philosophies, principles, systems, methods, tools, standards, organizational and team dynamics, customer expectations and satisfaction, supplier relations and performance, leadership, training, interpersonal relationships, improvement systems and professional ethics.
* Will have a fundamental understanding of a quality system and its development, documentation and implementation to domestic and international standards or requirements.
* Will have a basic understanding of the audit process including types of audits, planning, preparation, execution, reporting results and follow-up.
* Will be able to develop and implement quality programs, including tracking, analyzing, reporting and problem solving.
* Will be able to plan, control and assure product and process quality in accordance with quality principles, which include planning processes, material control, acceptance sampling and measurement systems.
* Will have basic knowledge of reliability, maintainability, and risk management, including key terms and definitions, modeling, systems design, assessment tools and reporting.
* Will have a thorough understanding of problem-solving and quality improvement tools and techniques. This includes knowledge of management and planning tools, quality tools, preventive and corrective actions, and how to overcome barriers to quality improvements.
* Will be able to acquire and analyze data using appropriate standard quantitative methods across a spectrum of business environments to facilitate process analysis and improvements.
