Quality Control Inspector - 3rd Shift
SUMMARY OF POSITION: This position supports the quality control group functions associated with product inspections, basic sample preparation, basic product testing and data reporting. The position is primarily responsible for monitoring, inspecting and documenting product non-conformances. A detailed knowledge of customer specifications is required.
JOB DESCRIPTION: • Set up visual displays of customer specifications at the start of each production lot. • Inspect intermediate and finished product for physical defects against a customer specific standard. • Measure physical defects using templates, rulers and calipers. • Input defect data into spreadsheets using Excel or applicable software. • Prepare samples of finished product for laboratory testing. • Conduct basic physical properties testing such as backpressure and ultrasonic flaw detection. • Setup of online quality control equipment. • Perform periodic checks of online quality and production equipment. • Communicate effectively with production line operators, engineers and quality/production supervisors.
Requirements:
• The incumbent must have an excellent attention to detail and familiarity with personal computers and basic software such as Word and Excel. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision and excellent communication skills. • High school degree required with a math or science background preferred. • 0 – 2 yrs experience in a quality control and /or manufacturing environment. • Must be able to work 11pm – 7am. • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
