Description
BASF is committed to the people, safety, cost, quality and manufacturing operations of the Peekskill site. We are currently seeking applicants for the position of Laboratory Technician in the Quality Control Laboratory, working a 12-hour, fixed shift (7PM - 7AM) 3 days on, 2 off, 2 on, then 3 off.
As a Laboratory Technician, you will perform a variety of raw material, in-process and finished product quality control duties including: raw material classification, in process quality control, final product blending and quality control. You will work from raw material, in-process and final product specifications, follow documented procedures and use standard lab techniques to take analytical measurements, perform visual appearance inspections and record information in database history files and other written documents including production schedules and process adjustment instructions.
You will use various analytical equipment and devices including standard laboratory meters, gauges, microscopes, equipment and glassware in the performance of quality control testing and utilize a variety of computer software.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: All applicants must be a minimum18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Graduates of a post-secondary degree or technical program in chemistry or the sciences are preferred.
Prior Lab experince prefered
