Quality Control Manager-QA/QC/Construction
Client is looking for 2 QA/QC Construction Specialists for a 24 month contract assignment in South Plainfield, NJ. You need 7-10+ years of QA./QC construction experience supporting large, heavy industrial plant construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting power plant, transmission line and/or substation EPC projects. Our client is looking for candidates that are local to NJ.
Responsibilities:
-> Direct the layout, excavation, & assembly/installation of major electrical equipment foundations, structures and conduit/cable
-> Coordinate the testing of spoils with Resource Recovery and schedule activities to minimize disruption to facilities
-> Review the work of subcontractors involved in the civil construction of high voltage T&D and substation projects
-> Inspect the job site daily to ensure completion in accordance with established designs, specifications and company & industry standards
-> Travel to different locations throughout NJ in support of multiple substation construction projects
-> Complete construction reports, Contractor billing, in-service reports, Contractor/vendor evaluations and project close-out reports
Requirements:
-> 10+ years of QA-QC experience supporting heavy industrial EPC or Construction Management projects
-> 3+ years of experience managing quality controls procedures
-> Ideal candidate has experience supporting large power plant, transmission line and/or substation EPC projects
-> BS degree (preferably in Construction or Engineering)
-> Must have experience with developing quality controls procedures and implementing the procedures
-> The following would be a PLUS: Lead Auditor 40 hours Training, ANAB or IRCA or Equivalent Lead Auditor Certification, Formal ISO 9001 Quality Management System Training, experience in Construction & equipment Inspection & Quality Management system auditing (assessments)
-> A working knowledge of industry codes, standards and regulations (ISO 9001, ASME IX, AWS D1.1, ASNT, ASTM). AWS and NDE certifications are desirable
