Quality Control Supervisor
Supervise the daily operations of the Quality Control personnel monitoring catalyst production.
Due to the expensive nature of catalyst materials and numerous different customer specifications, the composition of the in-process and finished product must be closely monitored. The Quality Control Supervisor continuously monitors catalyst production and has direct liaison with production to ensure that the manufacture of catalysts conform to all applicable specifications. Inspectors and Analysts report directly to the QC Supervisor. The incumbent is concerned with maintaining the consistency and quality of each catalyst. The QC Supervisor works in conjunction with Production, Material Control, and Process engineering groups to ensure the efficient manufacture of quality product and to resolve all product non-conformances that occur on the shift. * Comply with all environmental & health and safety federal, state, local regulations and company policies. * Schedule and supervise Quality Control personnel and test equipment to meet production schedules and shipment schedules. * Ensure the quality of all catalytic converters produced satisfies customer requirements. * Train, coach, mentor, engage motivate, and support direct reports in order to maintain efficiency and effective quality control of the manufacturing process. * Organize and coordinate testing of sample group testing on a daily basis * Execute special assignments. * Coordinate inventories. * Initiate, revise, and maintain quality documentation, procedures, manuals and specifications. * Implement and coordinate quality development and improvements.
* Implement changes to improve health and safety. * Manage costs to ensure effective resource use. * Prepare and conduct Performance Reviews. * Be an effective trainer for new hires.
Requirements:
* Bachelors Degree in Chemistry or related field with 1-3 years * Experience directly supervising and managing the day-to-day activities of other laboratory individuals a plus. * Knowledgeable in the areas of chemical analysis, quality systems, and manufacturing processes. Familiarity with the automotive technical standard TS16949 a plus. * Flexible, self-motivated and able to demonstrate the ability to work on an independent basis. * Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e.: Excel, Word, & PowerPoint). * Good communication skills with ability to write detailed documentation and train Quality staff. * Capable of working as a team member with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
