THE RIGHT STAFF has an opportunity for the right person to work with one of our clients! THE RIGHT STAFF is currently looking for a 2nd shift Quality Inspector. PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: To provide OSI and SPC support, receiving inspection, product and part audit, and process audit for the High Purity and Industrial Controls manufacturing operation. Provide quality assurance support to other functions, teams, vendors and customers. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: 1. Perform Receiving Inspection - Performs receiving inspection on raw materials and components supplied by external suppliers or customers. Includes data base maintenance and inspection sheet preparation. 2. Perform In-Process Product Audits, Configuration Audits, and Product Audits - Performs in-process product audits and configuration audits on components manufactured in-house. Acts as a resource for operators performing SPC data collection and plotting. Conducts product audits per the requirements of the divisional Quality System Manual in the following areas: packaging, shipping, and final inspection, prior to delivery of product to the customer. 3. Operator Self-Inspection - Supports Operator Self Inspection (OSI) needs for components manufactured in-house. Includes establishing key characteristics as determined by the design team per divisional ECO and product development procedures. 4. Assure Product Meets Performance Tests - Performs product audits by witnessing the assembly and test processes for completed product, assuring product meets specified performance tests. This should include MITI/KHK tests such as minimum wall thickness, dye penetrant testing of welds, air tightness, and proof pressure tests. 5. Perform Mechanical Inspections - Performs mechanical inspections and offers technical support at suppliers or customers facility as assigned. 6. Provide Training - Provides training to machinists and other inspectors on the proper set-up and use of inspection equipment, related standard operating procedures and work instructions. 7. Provide Back-Up Support for Gage Technician - Provides back-up support for Gage Technician by preparing gage requests for operators and vendors. 8. Productivity and Efficiency - Uses total quality techniques, including team participation, to recommend ways to eliminate potential quality problems. Improve procedures and work instructions to improve personal and department effectiveness. 9. Quality Assurance Representative - Acts as Quality Assurance representative on teams such as ECO Committee, MEC, etc. as assigned. 10.
