Quality Engineer-Manufacturing/Supplier Quality/PPAP, APQP
Manufacturing client is looking to hire a "hands on" Supplier Quality Engineer with experience in a medium to heavy industrial manufacturing environment. Our client is looking for someone with low volume/high mix manufacturing experience. The ideal candidate has experience working for a company that designs & manufactures large, industrial trucks. Responsibilities:
-> Initiate external supplier quality improvement processes using techniques such as Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing to achieve defect-free dock to line parts
-> Perform supplier audits, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for all supplier quality issues
-> Drive timely resolution and cost recovery efforts related to sub-standard quality purchased components and/or sub assemblies
-> Lead efforts to initiate & finalize root cause analysis & corrective actions with company's supply base when issues occur in the plant or field
-> Conduct supplier audits ensuring appropriate process and QA controls are in place to allow for dock to line defect free product while ensuring OTD performance
-> Develop process to align subcontractors with company's realization processes
Requirements:
-> BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing preferred)
-> 4+ years experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer in a medium to heavy industrial manufacturing environment (must have low volume, high mix manufacturing experience)
-> You must have the ability to read blueprints
-> Travel up to the 50% range on an as needed basis
-> Experience working as a Supplier Quality Engineer for a company that designs & manufactures large heavy industrial trucks would be a PLUS
-> Experience with lean manufacturing principles and six sigma tools & programs
-> An ASQC or CQE certification is strongly preferred
-> Knowledge and use of APQP and PPAP tools to drive improvement of PPM's and other company KPI's are essential
-> Experience with JD Edwards software would be a PLUS
