Job Description
SUMMARY Seeking a self-motivated individual with problem-solving and customer service skills for role of Quality Engineer in an aerospace manufacturing environment. This person will represent the company with customer quality organizations to enhance service and promote excellence. They will become familiar with product designs, capabilities, and requirements and work within the organization to improve compliance and prevent nonconformance. This position promotes quality-oriented objectives derived from customer requirements and other external sources.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES . Receiving, in-process, and final product inspections. . Internal and customer quality audits. . Quality performance metrics maintenance. . Continuous improvement activities. . Calibration system maintenance. . Qualified Products List activity. . Testing methods and control plan development. *Other duties may be assigned.*
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES Provides overall managerial direction, training and support with regards to personnel issues for purchasing functions staff.

Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE . Four-year technical degree from accredited institution in an engineering or similar field. . Minimum of 2 years experience in process and/or quality engineering in a manufacturing environment. . Background including maintenance of a quality management system, preferably AS9100 compliant. . Experienced leader in customer relationships as quality representative. . Ability to collect and analyze data to determine process capability and form corrective actions. . Acquainted with various six sigma and lean manufacturing tools. . Familiarity with electrical theory and basic test methods applicable to wire products. . Knowledgeable in software tools for project management, presentation, and problem-solving. . Exhibit team leadership in a 24-hour manufacturing environment. . Manage capital projects for productivity and other facility improvements.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, write and documents in English, using correct grammar, punctuation, spelling and to communicate effectively over the telephone as well as face-to-face using proper grammar.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure; using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, you will be required to sit, stand walk, and hear; use hands to type/write and arms to reach. The job will include some lifting, which would normally be around 5-10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds, depending on the situation. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is performed in a normal office environment with minimal physical risks involved. The noise level is usually moderate. Occasionally the job may require that you enter the production area, which you will need to maintain OSHA safety standards.
TRAVEL Travel requirements are minimal and would be less than 10% of the job responsibilities.
