Quality Inspector
Responsible for inspecting parts to meet customer specifications and assisting Lab Supervisor in related tasks with limited supervision.
Accurately performs hardness and case depth test and record results as required.
Performs calibration of all testing equipment accurately and on schedule.
Completes conformance certificates and other related paperwork.
May assist with shop audits and/or reviews as required.
Meets all specifications requirements per quality system.
Brings any deviation, problem or irregularity to supervisor or management
Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping
Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
Requirements:
Requirements:
Education: Minimum 2 year Associates Degree in Metallurgy
Experience Necessary: 1 -3 years experience in heat treating or related field.
Language skills: Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Must be able to communicate professionally with internal and external customers.
Physical Demands: Must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods, bend, stoop and lift up to 50 lbs.
Must have good vision, corrected/uncorrected, for precise reading of microscope and related equipment.
Must have hands on experience with lab equipments and hardness testers.
Basic knowledge of commercial materials and heat treating equipment is desired.
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, be detail oriented and possess manual dexterity.
Work Environment: May be exposed to heat, noise, humidity and fumes.
May be required to work overtime or any shift, any day of the week.
Must be able to become and maintain certified forklift operator status.
Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism.
