Functional Area: Quality Work Location: Carbon Operations - SFS
Job Description Summary: . Inspection of in-process and finished component utilizing various types of measuring and test equipment, to verify various characteristics including ink stamping as required. Interface with production operator related to his/her workmanship, and/or other quality issues. . Verify SPC data when applicable for final acceptance of parts. . Ensure that gages and measuring instruments are within calibration interval prior to use. . Assist inspectors within department for other activities as required. . Inform supervisor of all abnormal conditions. Provide input to improve quality procedures. . Inspection of Products/Material and Inspection Records through MES System . Perform functions and duties as required by the overall workload. . Coordinate activities with supervisor to establish priorities and to resolve inspection issues with other departments evolving from inspection activities. . Inspection of returned goods from customers. Define the discrepancy and report as required. . Perform hardness, etc. as required per instructions. . Ensure nonconforming material is isolated from acceptable parts and is properly documented and controlled; and in accordance with Goodrich/Customer's procedures. . Report inspection results as required on appropriate forms. . Comply with all Carbon Products EH&S policies and procedures, including personal protective equipment use, housekeeping standards, and EH&S training requirements. . Handling of hazardous materials Basic Qualifications: Minimum Required Qualifications: . H.S. diploma/GED with 1-3 years of related work experience . Familiarity with Network-based computer systems and Windows OS as well as Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook) . Mechanical inclination with good mechanical common sense . Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications: . Working knowledge of dimensioning and per ANSI Y14.5M-1982 . Experience in the use of precision measurement tool
