Job Description Summary: Perform first article inspections of new designs and significant changes to existing engineering configuration in accordance with company policies & procedures. Perform surveillance audits on processes, systems and procedures within or outside of assigned area. Identify & document non-conformances (both hardware & non-hardware related) and initiate and/or process internal/external rejection documents. Maintain quality records in accordance with company policies and procedures. Perform or assist in technical investigations and research to establish standards and methods for quality control of processes, materials, parts and assemblies. Develop and maintain departmental metrics. Assist in providing formal written responses for non-conformances discovered by customers and, or auditors. Assist in conducting process capability and gage R&R studies. Participate in team decision making and problem solving, actively supporting the Goodrich People Philosophy and a Lean environment. Apply knowledge of quality principles and techniques in support of the business objectives of the organization and specific company goals. Train others in areas of primary responsibility. Assist in all other inspection areas when necessary. Audit policies, and procedures compliance to current standards. Performs other duties and tasks as assigned. EOE/ADA/M/F/V Basic Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of detail fabrication /sheet metal manufacturing and processing and assembly manufacturing processes Basic computer skills required Experience with an ERP program or SAP preferred. Experience in MRB and Corrective Action Systems Understand tooling philosophy (detail & assembly) Ability to read and interpret blue prints and specifications Effective verbal / written communication skills Ability to write procedures Knowledge of non-destructive testing Knowledge of thermal processing / monitoring Knowledge and experience in the use of precision measuring equipment and familiarity with calibration requirements Must be detail oriented
Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent plus 5 years experience in a quality position within a manufacturing environment. Experience must include two (2)-years of hands-on technical experience. ISO9000 type program, NADCAP and CMM experience preferred. Must pass the minimum VALPAR scores for this position.
